Biography
Andrew Warwick is an award winning, multi-disciplined art director based in Derbyshire, England specialising in multi-media, animation and illustration. His impressive and distinct style has brought him commissions from major advertising agencies, record companies, the fashion industry and publishing houses worldwide. His objectives are to produce quality products for interesting clients in a creative environment, while developing and pushing the boundaries of design mediums. Andrew has also won several awards for his work and been featured in numerous design magazines, namely Creative Review, Design Week, Toca Me, Vorn and Create Online.
Whilst studying for his A-Levels Andrew found that the work he produced gained an increasing interest, most of which was bought by independent art buyers. As a result he was offered a scholarship at The Royal College of Art but turned down the offer to concentrate on his professional career. In his spare time whilst working for a local design agency, Andrew produced ‘The Wonderful World of Warwicka’ an open source interactive animation website that received over 1.5million hits in 1999, it’s first year online.
Professionally his first key project came in 2000 - to work on the interactive design launch of the Sony Playstation PS2 lead by Trevor Beattie and with Birmingham’s Fluid Design. He then moved onto fashion photographer Nick Knight and legendary graphic designer Peter Saville’s ShowStudio in London. In 2001, Andrew took a Senior Designer role at design consultants Checkland Kindleysides where he worked for clients such as Levis and the California Academy of Science.
Since 2002, Andrew has been working as a freelance art director. Initially for RBH and Cogent in the Midlands but during a two year period he also lived and worked in London for Dare, Glue London, Saatchi & Saatchi and Leo Burnett.
Andrew has exhibited his personal artwork internationally, and plans to produce a book of his retrospective work. He lives with his daughter Lily and their English Bulldog 'Lady' in Derbyshire.
