Home [ 2021 ]

Animated short competition entry for 2021, 'Home'.

This short film started as a Duik experiment that organically developed into a deeper/wider narrative. Made during the extended early 2021 lockdown, the piece explores the emotional reaction to loss of freedoms, lack of hope and the value of friendships and family.

“ Featuring Edward Elgar's 'Nimrod', which has always been a personal favourite, I hope the film brings a sense of positive, sentimental warmth to those that get to the end. So far, it's been really well-received and that is, obviously, very pleasing. ”

Jamie Thrasivoulou - Kisses the Wind [ 2021 ]

Andrew had been closely following the output of talented writer, poet and lyricist Jamie Thrasivoulou and in the summer of 2019 suggested a collaboration.

The following summer, Jamie suggested 'Kisses the Wind', Andrew agreed and using a solitary promotional photo of Jamie, created a cut-up collage of Jamie's face with his mouth and facial features linked to react to the vocals in the audio.

Footage was then recorded on an iPhone of various streets around Derby, which was then reversed and treated to act as a background to the synced face of Jamie.

London [ 2020 ]

Animated short competition entry for 2020, 'London'.

Featuring voices of: Elizabeth II, Jeremy Brett, James Carter, Winston Churchill, Joan Collins, Peter Cook, Windsor Davies, Bruce Forsyth, Clement Freud, Stephen Fry, Richard.E.Grant, Joanna Lumley, Dudley Moore, Paul McCartney, Leonard Rossiter, Lily Warwick, Kenneth Williams & Barbara Windsor

Adam Kay [ 2020 ]

Since 2017, Andrew has been working with Pan Macmillan and British comedy writer Adam Kay on animated diary entries of the million-copy bestselling 'This is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor'.

The short films, although very simple, are always well received and have been included within nominations for a number of publishing industry marketing awards.

Repeat Ad Nauseam

Created in 2012, 'Repeat Ad Nauseam' is an exploration of geometric patterns and handcrafted anomalies.

With a frame-rate set to align with any slow to mid-range BPM, the film's hypnotic movement was designed as a 4K composition for use on large scale video screens.
